Dhaulagiri circuit trek first discovered by the French expedition team in 1950 is one of the challenging and best trekking routes in Nepal. The 7th tallest peak in the world Dhaulagiri, this circuit trek offers a magnificent view of the Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV, V and much more.
Mt. Dhaulagiri at the elevation of 8167 meters offers trek via deepest gorge of the world and two high pass French pass 5240 meters and the Thapa pass 5155 meters. Mount Dhaulagiri circuit trek connects to Upper Dolpa and Upper Mustang.
Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is a tiring and challenging trek through the high alpine pasture, serene and uninhabited valleys and passes.
The trail is extreme, as the trekkers might need gears like ice axe and crampons while trekking this circuit. This circuit trek begins from the Beni Bazaar and gradually following the Italian Base camp and eventually entering into the wilderness of the natural attributes. The wildlife like Red Panda, Leopards, Musk Deer, Himalayan Thar and other diverse species of wildlife are available in this trekking region The trekkers also have a chance to view the magnificent peak like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Muktinath Himal, Putali Tukuche peak and others. The cultural features of the Dhaulagiri are also amazingly beautiful. Magar, Gurung, and Thakali are the local people of this region. Their culture, traditional attire, festivals attract and appeal to every visitor. The beautiful villages like Doban, Marpha are also the major attraction of this circuit.
In comparison to other trekking circuits, the Dhaulagiri trekking circuit is less crowded. This circuit trek is trekking in the diverse region with well-equipped natural attributes, gigantic mountains, cultures, and extension into the hidden valley.

Day 1: Advent at Kathmandu via Tribhuvan International Airport.
The frontiertreks greet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu valley sightseeing and exploration.
We walk around the Kathmandu valley for sightseeing. We visit a few places like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath temple. After sightseeing, we prepare for the circuit trek. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara and sightseeing. Duration: 7 hours.
After morning breakfast, we drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. We have a scenic drive over the green hills and at the bank of the river. After reaching Pokhara, we take a rest and walk around the city for the exploration. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Darbang. Duration: 5-6 hours.
We make our way to Darbang via drive after taking an early breakfast. As we drive, we can have a magnificent view of Annapurna Himalayas. After crossing Beni filled with green rice fields’ and charming villages, we reach Darbang. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 5: Trek from Darbang to Dharapani (1490 meters). Duration: 5 hours.
We continue our trek via Myagdi Khola and cross the suspension bridge. Then, the trail leads us ascending to Dharapani which is a Gurung Community. We can have fabulous outlooks of Mt. Dhaulagiri IV, V, and Gurja Himal. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 6: Trek from Dharapani to Muri (1720 meters). Duration: 5-6 hours.
Today, we trek across several villages like Sibang village. We have a stunning view of gigantic snowclad mountains like Putha Hiunchuli and Gurja Himal. We cross a suspension bridge at Dhara Khola and make our way to Muri via Steep trail. Muri is Magar Community and from here, we can see magnificent Mt. Dhaulagiri and other several snowclad mountains. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 7: Trek from Muri to Bagar (2080 meters). Duration: 8-9 hours.
Leaving Muri behind, we make our way to Bagar following the steep path. To reach the Bagar, we must cross the Bamboo forest, charming terrace fields, and several farmhouses. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 8: Trek from Bagar to Dobhan (2520 meters). Duration: 5-6 hours
We descend following the trail to the west bank of Myagdi Khola via a forest of Jyhardan. During our trek, we can meet the honeycombs and see how they collect honey. We take a rest at the beautiful village of Jyardan and Lipshe. After that, we make our way through long, steep, slippery stone and into bamboo and rhododendron forest and finally reach to Dobhan. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 9: Trek from Dhoban to Italian Base Camp (3660 meters). Duration: 4-5 hours.
We follow the trail of bamboo and rhododendron forest and then cross Myagdi Khola and reach Sallaghari. Then the trail passing via pine trees and rhododendron forest takes us to the Italian Base Camp. The base camp offers us a magnificent view of the West face of Dhaulagiri. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 10: Acclimatization at Italian Base Camp (3660 meters).
We stay at the Italian Base Camp for Acclimatization and explore the surrounding. We can enjoy the flocks of snowcapped mountains. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 11: Trek from Italian Base Camp to Japanese Base Camp (3890 meters). Duration: 5-6 hours.
The trail takes us down to steep lateral moraine and the glacier. We cross the gorge with the help of gorge. We reach to the Japanese Base Camp with the magnificent outlook of Dhaulagiri I. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 12: Trek from Japanese Base Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4748 meters). Duration: 4-5 hours.
We walk over the rough trail covered by the glacier. To reach the Dhaulagiri base camp, we use a rope. From the base camp, we can have an awe-inspiring view of Dhaulagiri II and IV. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 13: Trek from Dhaulagiri Base camp to Hidden Valley (5141 meters) via French Pass (5360 meters). Duration: 6-7 hours.
We follow the trail that ascends to the top of the French Pass. We have to use a rope to cross over a steep moraine. From the top of the French Pass, we can see beautiful Dhaulagiri I and Tukuche Peak and other mountains like Tukuche peak, Tashi Kang, Dhaulagiri massif and Mukut Himal. After a quality of time, we descend following the trail of snow slopes to Hidden Valley. Hidden valley resembles the villages of Tibet and Laddakh and their temperature is similar too. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 14: Trek from Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka (3900 meters) via Dhampus valley (5244 meters). Duration: 7- 8 hours.
We ascend on the moderate snow slope enjoying the Dhampus peak to the left and Tukuche peak to the left. Then, the trail descends and takes us to the Yak Kharka. During the course, we can see the breathtaking views of Nilgiri and Annapurna Massifs. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 15: Trek from Yak Khraka to Marpha (2670 meters). Duration: 4-5 hours.
We descend following the trail along the mountain's flank to reach Marpha. Marpha is a beautiful village inhabited by ethnic group Thakali. It has well maintained Buddhist monastery, Flagstone paved streets and Tibetan whitewashed houses. Overnight at the tented camp.
Day 16: Trek from Marpha to Jomsom (2720 meters). Duration: 2-3 hours.
Today, the trail takes us along the Kali Gandaki River over a beautiful apple garden. On our way to Jomsom, we can enjoy the beautiful gigantic mountains Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Nilgiri. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 17: Fly to Pokhara from Jomsom.
We take an early breakfast and fly to Pokhara from Jomsom over the high snowcapped mountains and hills. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
We can also take a flight to Kathmandu from the Pokhara or drive via bus to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu, we transfer you to the hotel for rest. Later, we can walk outside the Kathmandu valley street for exploration and buy a reminder of Nepal. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 19: Final Departure to native destination.
We have a short farewell program and take you to the airport for your departure.
