The circuit trek situated in the eastern part of Nepal is an unexplored and pristine trekking route. Kanchenjunga circuit trek offers the magnificent outlooks of popular peaks such as Mt. Makalu 8201 meters, Mt, Lhotse 8516 meters, Mt. Everest 8848 meters and much others.
The five treasure of the high snow, Kanchenjunga circuit trek takes trekkers between three distinct ecoregions that are broad-leaved and coniferous forests, alpine shrub and meadows and savanna grasslands. The Kanchenjunga circuit trek offers opportunities to experience the rich and traditional typical culture and lifestyle in this region. Kanchenjunga trekking trails follow in between the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. The area is rich in flora and fauna. The wildlife like Impedance Pheasant, Musk deer, Himalayan black bear, red panda, and much others are found in this conservation area. Nevertheless, a remarkable valley, a striking view of the frozen lake, Okthang glacier also makes our journey thrilling and exciting.
The high peaks exceeding 7000 meters like Kambachen 7903 meters, Janu 7710 meters, Kabru 7353 meters, Tent peak 7365 meters and the Twins 7350 meters are also the major attraction of the Kanchenjunga circuit trek.

Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and then drive to Illam (1667 meters). Duration: 5 hours.
We take an early breakfast and make a short flight around 1 hour from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur. After, arriving at the Bhadrapur, we take a drive to Illam. Illam is the center and heart of the tea plantation area of Nepal. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Drive from Illam to Taplejung (1820 meters). Duration: 4 hours.
We drive via terraced fields and hills. In between, we can see several Buddhist Gompas. In one of the Gompas, we can see the butter lamps burning continuously for more than 400 years. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 3: Trek from Taplejung to Chirwa (1270 meters). Duration: 7 hours.
We start our trek early after taking breakfast. We trek over downhill and catch a glimpse of the beautiful village of Sinwa. Trekking over the banks of the Tamor River ultimately takes us to the Chirwa. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 4: Trek Chriwa to Lelep (1860 meters). Duration: 7 hours.
We trek and pass through Tepethok and enter the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. We have our trekking permit checked and make our way ascending to Lelep. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 5: Trek Lelep to Amjilosa (2510 meters). Duration: 5 hours.
We trek over the trekking trail of water and suspension bridges. We pass across Sherpa village. Amjilosa is a village with few settlements and mainly used during the time of yaks and sheep grazing. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 6: Trek Amjilosa to Gyabla (2730 meters). Duration: 4 hours.
We walk through the forest of pine, bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests. We encounter yaks, goats, and sheep as we trek through the trail. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 7: Trek from Gyabla to Ghunsa (3595 meters). Duration: 4 hours.
We walk via the forest and pass over Phale Village. Phale was the previous Tibetan refugee camp. Now it’s a winter settlement village. We can see the very beautiful handicraft in this village kept for on sale. From here, we head towards Ghunsa which is the largest village in this area with telephone, internet, health post, and other services. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 8: Acclimatization day at Ghunsa.
For the acclimatization, we can climb to a ridge and explore a monastery. The ridge offers a magnificent view of Jannu Peak. We hike to a ridge for 5 hours. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 9: Trek Ghunsa to Kambachen (4100 meters). Duration: 4 hours.
We gently walk upward to the green glacier valley alongside the Jannu Himal at the skyline. We could also see the blue sheep and snow leopards. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 10: Rest and acclimatization day at Kambachen (4100 meters). Duration: 4 hours.
We stay at Kambachen for the preparation of North Base Camp. We hike up to the ridge for an astonishing view of Kanchenjunga as a part of acclimatization. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 11: Trek from Kambachen to Lhonak (4785 meters). Duration: 4-5 hours.
We trek over the moraine following Kanchenjunga Glacier. We walk over two big boulders and reach the Snow leopard territory. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 12: Trek to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp (4785 meters) Duration: 6-7 hours.
We take an early breakfast, make our way across the moraine from the Kanchenjunga Glacier, and ascend gently. After reaching the Base Camp, we observe the surrounding atmosphere. After having the quality time, we return back to the Lhonak for the night. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 13: Trek from Lhonak to Ghunsa (3595 meters). Duration: 6 hours.
We trek over pebbles and moraine and reach Kambachen village for lunch. We trek along the riverside of Tamor and see the green vegetation, as we get closer to the Ghunsa. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 14: Trek from Ghunsa to Sele Le (4390 meters). Duration: 5 hours.
We trek through the forest and a grassy ridge. In the distance view, we can see Ghunsa, Phale and Mt. Makalu. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 15: Trek from Sele Le to Cheram (3870 meters). Duration: 6-7 hours.
We start our trek early morning making our way to Kanchenjunga South Base Camp. As we cross the Sinion La Pass (4450 meters), the trail further takes us to the Sineche La pass (4830 meters). We can have a fantastic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. After that, we descend via a small trail to Cheram. Overnight at teahouse.
Day 16: Day tour and exploration to Kanchenjunga South Base Camp (4580 meters). Duration: 6-7 hours.
We trek to Ramche that leads us to the Kanchenjunga South Base Camp. The Tibetan prayer flags surround the Base Camp. After a quality time, we retrace back to Cheram. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 17: Trek from Cheram to Torongding (2080 meters). Duration: 4 hours.
The trail takes us downhill through a gorge and after that, we make our way to the steep uphill. The area is prone to landslide. Therefore, we must be careful while we climb. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 18: Trek from Torongding to Yaphuding (2080 meters). Duration: 7-8 hours.
We take an early breakfast, trek downhill, and then mark a steep and long uphill hike. As we hike we pass over Lasiya Bhanjyang, make downhill via the forest, and finally reach the village of Yamphuding. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 19: Trek from Yamphuding to Khebang (1910 meters). Duration: 5-6 hours.
We make our trek to the low altitude region passing through interesting villages and terraced fields. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 20: Trek from Kebang to Khamdime (1500 meters). Duration: 5-6 hours.
Last day of our trek, via beautiful green lands and streams. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 21: Drive from Khamdime to Bhadrapur (93 meters). Duration: 10 hours.
We take a long drive along with the wonderful sights. We pass over beautiful hills and terrace as we drive. Overnight at the teahouse.
Day 22: Fly from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu (1400 meters). Duration: 1 hour.
We take a scenic flight from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu, we guide you to the hotel. In the evening, we walk over the busiest hub Thamel for relaxation and celebrate our tour success. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 23: Fly to native home.
Today is the day of departure. We guide you to the airport and have a final goodbye. We hope to meet soon for another destination.
