The Lower Mustang trek is apart from the Annapurna Circuit trek. It is the single most popular trek in the diverse landscape with various cultures and traditions found along the route. It gives a perfect insight into the rural life of the people living in this area. This trek delivers you the sightseeing of beautiful Kali Gandaki River which is George carved and carries water from the Tibetan Pleated. You ‘ll experience the stark, barren landscape of the Lower Mustang which is dotted with Tibetan Buddhist cultural attractions on the course of the trek around Jomsom. The altitude in this trek is not too high so that normal person can go hiking in this area. The flying between Pokhara and Jomsom speeds up the journey.
The journey of this trek starts after your arrival in Kathmandu. Nayapul is the starting and ending point of this tour. Trekkers like to go from Jomsom to Muktinath which is a famous pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Muktinath is the sacred place for Hindus. People believed that taking a bath here in water guarantees salvation after death. It is the place that great sage Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated at and to all, it is the source of fossilized ammonites which is locally known as Shaligrams to the Buddhist. Shaligrams are found all along the upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki River valley. This trek is best for all round the year.
After you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll be received by our representatives who will help you to transfer to a tourist’s hotel. We’ll be briefing about the trip in the evening.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
In the morning after an early breakfast, we’ll travel around Kathmandu city. We’ll visit various historical and religious places in Kathmandu including Pashupatinath, Soyambhunath, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (900m)
Early in the morning, we’ll prepare to drive towards Pokhara. We’ll travel along the bank of the river and observe the beautiful mountains on the way and different local settlements.
Day 4: Flight to Jomsom (2,720m), Trek to Marpha (2,670m)
After reaching in Pokhara and enjoying the beautiful view of the city, we’ll fly towards Jomsom. Jomsom is the administrative city of the Mustang District. The change in the beautiful scenery of luck Pokhara and the Trend Himalayan region is striking. After reaching Jomsom, we’ll trek towards Marpha.
Day 5: Trek to Kagbeni (2,810m)
We’ll trek through the Jomsom town, cross the Kali Gandaki River and follow the trail towards the gravelly and the scoured valley. After walking along the Kali Gandaki River, we reach Kagbeni. We can have amazing views of Nilgiri after reaching Kagbeni. Kagbeni is the beautiful village that is situated at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Jhong Khola that follows down from Muktinath. There is a red-colored Monastery that belongs to Shakya sect that dominates this first of many Tibetan-style villages.
Day 6: Trek to Muktinath (3,760m)
The trek towards Muktinath goes through the eat ridge of Kagbeni. We ascend steeply to the upper valley with the exciting view of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, and Kali Gandaki Valley. We walk through the small villages and reach Jharkot. We continue our hike and reach Muktinath and the important center for Hindus and Buddhists. Muktinath is situated in a grove of trees that are the holy shrines, Buddhist gompa, and a pagoda-style temple housing the image of Lord Vishnu.
Day 7: Sightseeing in Muktinath
We spend our day in Muktinath. The amazing desert landscape makes our hikes memorable. We can see the exciting views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri Mountain ranges that are peaking at a distance. We can see the beautiful settlements of the local people with a unique culture and tradition.
Day 8: Trek to Jomsom (2,720m)
Early in the morning, we trek towards Jomsom taking the serene shortcut with awesome views ahead. We’ll brave the wind and walk through the Eklebhatti village and walk along Kali Gandaki River to reach Jomsom.
Day 9: Flight to Pokhara (900m)
Early in the morning, we fly towards Pokhara with the thrilling view of various mountains and natural scenes along the way.
Day 10: Sightseeing in Pokhara
We spend our whole day sightseeing in Pokhara. We’ll visit Fewa Lake, Devi’s fall, Begnas Lake, Gupteshwor cave, a museum and many more.
Day 11: Flight to Kathmandu (1,345m)
The next morning, we fly back to Kathmandu. We’ll take rest in Kathmandu. We’ll walk around the city and refresh ourselves. You can buy some gifts and dresses for your loved one. You’ll look your photographs that you snapped throughout the trek and enjoy yourself in the evening with your friends.
Day 12: Final Departure
Our tour comes to an end this day. Our representative will help you with your final departure.
